Buckhead Christian Ministry – Communication Consulting Student Account Manager & Editor (Georgia State University)

As a Georgia State University M.A. in Mass Communication Candidate in the Communications Consulting Course, I performed the following functions:

  • Measured Buckhead Christian Ministry’s (BCM) communication needs through market research and interviews.
  • Consulted BCM and developed a new communications plan including goals, strategies, and objectives.
  • Produced a proposal for BCM’s 30th Year Anniversary celebration.


Below are examples of the tasks (listed alphabetically) completed during the course:

Editing: Proofread, organized, and formatted group’s final document for accuracy before submission.

Event Kit: Generated an event kit including an event fact sheet, timeline/calendar, logistics, and promotion strategies to ensure a smooth execution of the event.

Issues Mapping: Analyzed the factors challenging BCM’s 30th Anniversary celebration by critiquing current strategies and remodeling them.

Market Research: Explored non-profit organizations similar to BCM to understand the competition and improve current communication factors.

Media Kit: Formatted press release and radio PSA templates for BCM’s events.

Social Media Assessment: Audited BCM’s social media platforms to gage current trends and made recommendations for improvement.

S.W.O.T. (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, & Threats) Analysis: Evaluated BCM’s current and past communication by filtering between factors that benefitted or hindered it.
